Der Interaktionsfilm Snowworld schreibt die in der Filmgeschichte legendäre Verführungsszene zwischen Catherine Deneuve und Susan Sarandon aus The Hunger (1983) um. Über ihre Methode Performing Found Footage verschafft annette hollywood sich Zugang zum Film: Sie nimmt Kontakt mit den Filmfiguren auf und greift selbstermächtigend in das Filmgeschehen ein. Allerdings ist ihr Weg in die Filmwelt von Störungen durchzogen, die Interaktion bricht immer wieder im Rauschen des Videoschnees ab. Die Akteurin versucht wiederholt, ähnlich wie in der Dramaturgie eines Adventure Games, durch ihre Handlungen Zugang zur nächsten Filmszene zu finden und kommt den Filmfiguren zunehmend näher. Dabei wird die filmische Konstruktion von Begehren vorgeführt und dekonstruiert. Die Strategie des Do-It-Yourself wird auch in der selbstkomponierten Filmmusik eingesetzt, deren Lyrics die Handlungen und das Happy End kommentieren und untermalen.

The interaction film Snowworld rewrites the legendary seduction scene between Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon from The Hunger (1983). Using her method of “performing found footage,” annette hollywood is able to access this film: she takes up contact with the film figures and intervenes in the film events, taking control. And yet, her path into the film world is saturated with disturbances, the interaction is repeatedly interrupted by the noise of video snow. The artist tries repeatedly, similar to the dramaturgy of an adventure game, to find access to the next scene by way of her actions and comes increasingly closer to the film figures. The cinematic construction of desire is thus parodied and deconstructed. The do-it-yourself strategy is also used in the self-composed film music; the lyrics comment and accompany the plot and the happy end.
